APPLICATION
2009 PARADE REQUIREMENTS AND REGULATIONS
FLOAT REQUIREMENTS
(1)To be considered the unit must be theme decorated.
(2)Floats are not to exceed 11-1/2 feet in height or 20 feet in width.
(3)Drivers of floats must have visibility of at least 180 degrees.
(4)All floats must have a fire extinguisher on board.
PARADE REGULATIONS The Whitefish Winter Carnival Parade is the focal point of the Carnival weekend activities and is
meant to be enjoyed by old and young alike. To this end, the following rules will apply:
(1)WITHOUT EXCEPTION THERE MUST BE NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES BEING
CONSUMED OR EXPOSED DURING THE PROGRESSION OF THE PARADE. Violation of this
rule will be grounds for immediate removal from the parade.
(2)POLITICAL ADVERTISING will not be allowed in the parade. This does not prevent
personalities from being in the parade.
(3)CONTROVERSIAL POLITICAL OR MORAL issues may not be displayed; for or against.
(4)CANDY OR OBJECTS MAY NOT BE THROWN TO THE CROWD. PLEASE OBSERVE
THIS RULE FOR THE SAFETY OF EVERYONE. You may have someone walk beside your float
to HAND candy to individuals in the crowd.
(5)ATVs and vehicles not meeting “Street legal” requirements must be hauled to and from the
parade staging areas. A licensed adult driver shall drive these vehicles, in a prudent manner, and
only along the designated parade route during the parade.
(6)All applications must be received by January 28, 2009. You will receive by mail your parade
position number. You must be in line by 1:30pm Saturday, February 7th, 2009.
(7)Any entry not in position for judging by 1:30pm will not be considered for cash awards and/or
trophies. NO EXCEPTIONS!
(8)Parade Marshals will be attired in orange vests. Ask Marshals for directions and information.
(9)Although not required, we would like to recommend that you plan for some type of music to
accompany your entry.
(10)Entries received after January 28th will not be judged and placed at the end of the parade.
(11) Entries with unpaid fees and/or incomplete applications will not be allowed to participate in the
